MotoClear privacy policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

MotoClear is a motorcycle diagnostics app that talks to your bike through an OBD adapter. This policy says what the app and its server collect, why, and how to have it deleted.

Questions or requests about your data: benchworkapps@gmail.com.

What stays on your phone

Session logs, CAN captures, learned signals and favourite models are stored only on your phone. They leave it only if you share them yourself, except for the failure reports below.

What the server keeps

Your IP address is used briefly to limit request rates and is not stored with your account.

Permissions

Bluetooth, nearby-devices and (on Android 11 and older) location permissions are used only to find and connect to your OBD adapter. The app never reads or sends your location. USB and Wi-Fi access are used only to reach the adapter and the server.

Sharing

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or advertising SDKs. Data is shared only with Google (Sign-In and Play billing) and with the hosting provider that runs our server on our behalf. All traffic between the app and the server is encrypted (HTTPS).

Deleting your data

Delete your account in the app (Account, then Delete account) or follow these instructions. This deletes your account, subscription records and failure reports. Service-reset key records are kept with the link to your account removed. Deleting the account does not cancel a Google Play subscription.

Children

MotoClear is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new date.
